Jar Candle Toppers and Shades
The PERFECT Gift for Candle Lovers
With Jar Candles being in the majority of UK homes, Candle Toppers make the perfect gift for that special someone. For me personally, I always treat my wife to a new candle topper (read more about this site here) around Christmas time as a little "extra". Metal Candle toppers can be interchangable with other candle jars (B&M, Yankee, Poundland, M&S etc), and can offer many different lighting effects making your home incredibly unique.
With Valentines day just around the corner, a lovely heart design candle topper is a really nice keep sake that will last burn after burn after burn.
Why add a candle topper?
Reduce Black Soot / Marks in your Candle Jars
The use of a candle topper, whether it be a shade or a standard metal open lid will reduce the amount of black soot from forming on the inside of your candle jar. We've all been there with our new Yankee candle jar, only for it to burn leaving an ugly black stain around the inside of the glass. Candle toppers allow an even burn reducing the amount of soot and making your jars look amazing.
Since adding candle toppers to all our candles, we also noticed soot marks that appeared on walls and ceilings were also reduced - making me a very happy husband (I don't need to re-decorate as often!)
Increase your Candle Jar Burn Time
Candle toppers and shades actually reduce the amount of heat generated, and therefore slow down the rate at which your candle wax burns. It's very unlikely that you are using your jar candles for heating your home so adding a candle topper can actually prolong the life of your candle making it a long term cost saving item.
If you're anything like my wife, seeing the candle come to the end of its life is quite a saddening moment. Candle toppers allow you spend more time with your lit candle - and let's be honest, some large jar candles are up to £30.00 - so making the most out of your candle can't be a bad thing at all.
Even Burning - No more side wax!
Placing a candle topper over your jar will ensure that the heat is evenly distributed. This not only makes sure that your jar candle lasts longer, but it prevents wax remaining "un-melted" on the inside of your jar.
You could even clip the wick of your jar candle for an even better distribution of heat reducing not only the wax build-up, but reducing black smoke/soot from marking your walls / ceilings around your candle jar.
